Installation

Welcome to the Product Feed Sync & Export User Guide. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the process of installing the app, syncing your product data, creating feeds, and utilizing advanced features to optimize your product feed management.

  1. Go to the Shopify App Store:

    • Open your web browser and navigate to the Shopify App Store.
  2. Search for Product Feed Sync & Export:

    • Enter "Product Feed Sync & Export" in the search bar and press Enter.
  3. Install the App:

    • Click on the Product Feed Sync & Export app from the search results.
    • Click the "Add app" button to begin the installation.
    • Follow the prompts to grant the necessary permissions and complete the installation process.

Syncing Product Data

  1. Open the App:

    • Once the app is installed, navigate to your Shopify admin dashboard.
    • Click on "Apps" in the sidebar menu and select "Product Feed Sync & Export."
  2. Initial Data Sync:

    • Upon opening the app for the first time, it will automatically begin syncing your product data.
    • This process may take a few minutes, depending on the size of your product catalog.
  3. Confirmation:

    • The notification banner on the app dashboard will auto hide once the sync is complete, indicating that your product data is ready for use.

Creating a Feed

  1. Access the Feed Creation Menu:

    • From the app's main dashboard, click on the "File" menu to view all created feed files.
  2. Start a New Feed:

    • Click the "Create" button located in the top right corner.
  3. Fill Out the Feed Form:

    • Collection Selection: Choose the collections you want to include in the feed.
    • Merchant Category Mapping: Map each collection to the appropriate merchant category or taxonomy.
    • Feed Details: Fill in other necessary details like feed name, description, etc.
  4. Create the Feed:

    • Click the "Create" button to generate your new feed file.
    • If you need to cancel the operation at any point, click the "Cancel" button.

Using Custom Scripts

  1. Navigate to the Script Section:

    • During the feed creation process, you will see a "Script" section in the form.
  2. Apply Custom Scripts:

    • Use this section to enter scripts for bulk updating product attributes. For example,
       - prepend title with "Vintage"
       - change compare_at_price to "1.20*price" where compare_at_price="0"
       - set new_attribute value "Luke"
       - map new_attribute to "brand"
      
    • Note that these scripts do not alter your actual Shopify data; they only apply changes during the feed generation.
  3. Help Text and Examples:

    • Refer to the help text provided within the form for documentation and sample scripts to assist you. You can also directly contact with our support staff from the chat icon in the bottom right corner of the page

Automating Feed Updates

  1. Set Update Intervals:

    • Go to the settings page within the app.
    • Choose your preferred interval for automatic feed updates (e.g., daily, weekly).
  2. Save Settings:

    • Save your settings to enable automated updates, ensuring your product feeds are always current.

Managing and Downloading Feeds

  1. View Created Feeds:

    • Access the "File" menu from the app dashboard to see all your generated feed files.
  2. Copy Feed URL:

    • Click on the desired feed file to view its details.
    • Copy the feed URL for use in your merchant platforms or other applications.
  3. Download Feed File:

    • Alternatively, you can download the feed file directly to your device for manual uploading.
